I have lived on Montrose Avenue in Toronto for over twenty years...and decided maybe I should get to know my neighbours. (I'm a bit slow.)
I now coordinate our spring street party which includes a giant potluck dinner in the middle of the street with about 300 people...followed by riotous dancing. WOW-I have great neighbours!
We have a Montrose Yahoo group with shared lists of contractors; babysitters; and tools and equipment that people are willing to share. And we alert the neighborhood if anyone dares to break into a house or steal something. We are planning a Groundhog Day party this winter and a Graffiti removal party in the spring. What a great neighbourhood!
